The Most Comfortable Way To Beat The (Southern) Heat.

{ Shirt: American Eagle | Skirt: ℅ Natural Life | Shoes: Walmart | Rings: ℅  Collegiate Standard }

I hate summer.
And hating summer gives me one of the most unpopular opinions here in the south. You'd think that the 95 degree weather with the 80% humidity would help back up my hatred of the season, but no one listens. One of my best friends would be absolutely joyful if we could keep the weather all year round, but thankfully, that can't actually happen.

Because of how hot it is, I can get stuck wearing the same jean shorts and crop top the whole summer if I'm not careful. It's loose, not much fabric, and let's me feel like I'm not drowning in my own sweat. However, it's just not appropriate to wear the same thing to class everyday. I try my best not to wear any kind of yoga pants, Nike shorts, or loungewear to class if I can help it. My freshman year, I was pledging a social club and would literally wear pajama pants, tank top, hoodie, and beanie every single day. Ever since I finished, I've tried not to to fall back into that.

It can be so easy to just be comfortable for class, but I really think it'll help you in the long run to go ahead and at least wear clothing that doesn't look like you grabbed it out of a pile as you jumped out of the shower. It'll make your professors remember you, and not only remember you, but think of you as the student who actually cares enough to look presentable for class.

Obviously, I'm not talking about wearing suits or anything, but you can be comfortable and still look put together enough for class. And for me? That means a ton of different outfits. But my favorite by far is a maxi skirt paired with a crop tank. It still lets me feel loose and unconstricted, but at the same time, the skirt is way more appropriate.

And even if you're not in college anymore, it's also a good way to replace going to Walmart in pajamas. ;)

I hope you're all having a fantastic Monday!

Also. I have a post coming soon with tips about photography. I've had a few people ask me lately how I take/edit my photos, so that post is on its way! :)

How do you stay cool in the summer?

    1. Awe, thank you! :D I absolutely can't, haha. I'll wear jeans if I'm feeling lazy but that's about it. However, I'd love to try capris! I've never really tried any before.

    I am cold-natured (sp?) so I personally like warmer weather! I am looking forward to autumn now, but not winter! Too cold for me!

      I'd be okay with autumn as long as it's cool enough for boots and scarves!

  9. I too, despise summer while most people love it. Somehow 107 degrees every day is not appealing to me! I love maxi skirts though, they are so comfy and look like you put a whole lot of effort into your outfit! Definitely following your blog! I love it :)

  13. cute skirt, I love it. I usually don't have to worry about beating the heat here in Ohio as much as you in the south, however, we did have a few weeks lately that were a bit over the top! I usually have to stay in the AC more, and outside a bit less to beat the heat!
