Back To School: I'm a SENIOR!

I cannot believe that I am already a senior in college. The past few days have been surreal as I've been starting classes once again and seeing all the freshmen on campus look super tiny (I know I'm 5'1", but you know what I mean, haha). & I've been putting off writing this post because I knew it would be about my last year of college and typing it up just makes it sound so concrete.

Don't get me wrong, I am SUPER excited to be done with undergrad, but it's also terrifying. I'm sure I'll mention that fact more than once in posts to come, but I just want to go ahead and state that now. I am absolutely daunted by "real life." But that's okay. People make the transition every day and I know I'm not the only one who starts out their senior year with a week or two (or seven) of panic. And aside from all of that general terror, it's also fantastically exciting.

I'M ALMOST DONE WITH UNDERGRAD. OMG.

Overdramatic, I know. But it's such an odd thing to think about.
We go straight from elementary school to middle school to high school and (for most) right on to college. We are so used to having classes and deadlines and papers and tests that I'm not even sure what life will be like without them (Well, depending on whether or not I go straight to grad school).

I feel like I'll just binge out on Netflix for awhile and end up like Penny in The Big Bang Theory whenever she gets addicted to video games. I won't shower for weeks at a time, I'll sit around in my robe, and I'll have Cheeto dust in my hair (Though for me, I think it'd be Oreo crumbs. Or wheat thins).

To quote Taylor Swift:

"We're happy, free, confused, and lonely at the same time."

Yes. Yes we are, Taylor.

On another note, I recently found this company called The Collegiate Standard, and I can truly say that I am in love with both their products and their workers. Along with emailing back and forth about post details (and the exciting giveaway that'll be at the end of this post!), we've also been discussing our love for Supernatural and the drinking game that I and my boyfriend made for the show (It's epic. Just ask her).

I chose to review the crown ring and the elephant ring, and I adore them both. They fit perfectly and they're two of the first things I put on in the morning when I'm getting ready for class or work. They don't leave the weird green marks on my fingers that a lot of jewelry does and I get complimented on them all the time. All in all, I really don't have anything negative to say about The Collegiate Standard. Their target audience is greek life, which I'm not, but they STILL have jewelry for those of us who chose not to go greek while in college. (They didn't have them when I chose, but I also LOVE LOVE LOVE their new pearl rings!)

  1. The rings are so adorable! Also being a senior in college is like having an emotional break down and a heart attack all at the same time. It's like, holy ish we're out in the real world in 9 months. And then it's like ew I don't want to do all this homework. And then it's like ew I need to do all this so I can get into grad school. And then it's like awww I want to spend all my time with all my friends. But then it's like ahhhh I need a nap. I'm sure my anxiety ridden senior in college post is soon to come. Right now I'm trying to ignore it. Avoidance is key. And I just need to take a nap now.

    1. They really are! :)

Hahaha, I agree 100% with all of this and you literally made me laugh out loud whenever I read this comment. I'll be waiting for your anxiety ridden post with bated breath. ;) Avoidance is definitely key. It's what I'm doing at least. xx

  3. Im a senior in high school right now, and I feel like college is so grown up and real life! I'm feeling a little panicky about how much is going to change soon, but you're right - it's really exciting!

    1. I KNOW. I felt the same way you did when I was in your position, but college is so fantastic in so many ways! A very tiny part of me wishes I could start over as well, haha. :) Good luck with your year!!

  4. The real world always seems harsh, but the good news is that it's full of tests and deadlines all it's own EVERY single day. School really prepares you for a job if nothing else. I've had more fun since being out that I ever had being in it, but I found out things that I really liked and wanted to pursue during those 4 years of undergrad that now make me happy.

    1. Yeah, I suppose that's true as well. It's good to hear from someone that the real world is more fun than college, because most normally focus on the negative and the "good years" of college. :)

  5. Hail senior spirit! Enjoy your last year at the W, there is no place like it and no time in your life like it. Real life can be scary, but once you get there, going back to a student life and a student budget isn't much fun either.

    1. Hail it, indeed! I'm doing my best so far. :) And I can definitely see that. There are pros and cons to both.

  7. Congratulations on being a senior! It's so scary to think about the real world, I'm going into my junior year in college and I'm already starting to get nervous. Enjoy your last first day, and your last year! Thanks for sharing Collegiate Standard, all of their stuff is super cute and I am OBSESSED with that elephant ring!

    1. THANK YOU! It really is scary and I was nervous last year as well, haha. And there's not even a reason to be nervous at that point! It's just crazy to think it'll all change so soon.

And you're welcome! They really are all fabulous and the elephant ring is just as adorable in person!

  8. Congratulations - you made it to senior year! The "real world" is an absolutely terrifying place to be but the great news is that you won't be alone in the transition. Make the most of this senior year - it's a great one!!

    1. YES! I love rings as well. I'd stack tons if it was plausible and wouldn't mess with my daily routine, haha. Good luck with your year as well!

  10. These rings are so cute! I especially love the crown one (even though I'm not much of a "princess" girl). I just discovered your blog and love it! I think you have a new, regular reader :) Also, don't forget to update your 'About' page so it says you're a senior now! Good luck with the school year.

    1. Thank you! :) I'm actually not a "princess" girl either, but I just loved how it looked so much that I figured I'd try it and now I wear it all the time. I'm so glad you like the blog! That makes my day. And I just updated the about. ;)
