Local Loves: Grassroots Natural Candle Company

This is a sponsored post in which I share my own opinions.

I am super excited to share this company today. If you've read my About Me, you know that I'm extremely passionate about things that I love. [Some might call it obsessed, but I just say that I'm extremely supportive] And one of the main things that I get happiness out of in life is candles. I am always in the market for new scents and new brands and I have bought so many different kinds just over the past few months because not only do I love the smells, but I also just love the way the light looks. I'm a huge fan of lights that don't come from lamps. i.e. - the Christmas lights I have on one wall of my room.

And another reason I'm excited to share is that this company is in my hometown. I'm not from a very big city at all, so anytime that I get to partner up with brands from around here makes me extremely happy.

I noticed this little shop about three months ago, and I've been buying my soap there ever since! I got stuck on Peppermint from the very beginning, but figured I would try something new for this review. Instead, I got one named Energy, which has a blend of grapefruit, lemon, and lime with hints of cucumber and jasmine. So far, one of my favorite things about it is that it literally makes you feel clean. It suds up really well and the scent lingers on your skin even after you're out of the shower (or done washing your hands). I'm absolutely NOT a morning person, ever, and the soap helps wake me up a bit when I do have to get up earlier. [thank you, multiple jobs]

And the candles are just as great as the soap. I like to try new scents, so I don't ever buy the biggest option, opting for the 8 oz instead. They literally make all of their candles in the back of the store by hand, even creating new scents on a regular basis just by putting together different oils until a perfect combination is reached. They use 100% natural soy wax, pure therapeutic grade essential oils, and eco friendly wicks for all of their candles.

And on top of all this, they really aren't that expensive!

4 oz | $8
8 oz | $12
12 oz | $16
16 | $24

I was given a new scent to try, named Strawberry Champagne. It was so new that it didn't even have the sticker on it yet with the store name and scent, so I was ecstatic to be able to try it. And I loved it. It's actually burning right now on my dresser as I type. By the name only, I knew I would burn it immediately. Because who doesn't love strawberries? And champagne?

Just as cool, they'll refill whatever container you'd like to make a candle in the store.
Thrift a super antique old bowl you don't know what to do with? Fill it with a candle.
Happen to have a neat old bucket you just can't throw away? They will even fill that with a candle.

The boyfriend and I have been on the hunt for the perfect candle base ever since we found this out. I still haven't found one yet, but what do you think?

What would make the perfect candle?

You can find Grassroots on social media as well if you'd like to follow or purchase! :)

  1. I am the same way about lights. I would rather be in a room full of candles and strings of Christmas lights than fluorescent bulbs. Ugh. I hate fluorescent altogether, come to think of it. I'm even happy with a small dim lamp on a side table while I read. And these candles are so cute! I'm a sucker for candles in general. I can never have enough.

  3. My perfect candle would be fresh apple or evergreen. My husband's always having me smell strawberry pie or something and I'm like "that would make me too hungry!"

  4. Love this place. I love their soap as well. The milk honey oatmeal one is awesome.

    1. I don't think they actually have a soap that I don't like. They're incredible.
