i found this linkup today by going through my twitter followers and doing a little bit of cyber stalking [of the continual clicking of links, of course]. i love this idea! Halloween is my favorite holiday and i've been wondering what kind of themed link ups would be passed around.
and i just couldn't pass this one up. :) it's extremely clever and fun to write as i sit here watching Breaking Bad with my hot chocolate.
the link up is on Shane's page if you'd like to join as well!
7 great things in your life.
my family. we argue a good bit and i don't get to see them much anymore, but i love them just the same. i'm counting my dog Theo in this too, i mean...he basically is my dad's youngest child anyway.
my best friends. i'm a ridiculously busy person, but without those amazingly incredible (if sometimes a little loony) people, i wouldn't be able to function in daily life.
my professors. i know a lot of people hate school, and it's not my favorite, but i absolutely adore most of my professors. especially in the English department. MUW did well in choosing our mentors. really.
the people i work with. well. obviously not ALL of them. but some of them are pretty wonderful and give me their only red bull because i didn't get any sleep but got my butt out of bed and up to work anyway. thanks, Phil.
my apartment. you never notice how much better life is when you don't live in a dorm until you don't live in a dorm. true life.
supernatural. does a tv show count? i'd say so, because i watch this show like it's gonna be taken off Netflix. it's my favorite and i think everyone should watch it. not only that, it's the only show i get fully absorbed in, meaning i can procrastinate for hours.
Morganville series. don't laugh. yes, it's an endless series that is ridiculously easy to read and almost worthy of soap opera status. but i love these books. my boyfriend could tell you how worked up i get over these people's lives and it can be
crazy excessive a little above normal in how emotional i get. i love reading.
7 things you lack and covet.
Michael Kors watch. it's expensive and it's unnecessary, but they're just gorgeous. and i would wear it all the time.
endless supply of time. i would love to live for 500 or so years, rather than just 80ish.
ALL the frequent flyer miles. goes along with time. i want to go everywhere. i want to see everything. if i had the time, i'd visit every country twice. some moreso.
no homework. i really think that speaks for itself.
the job of my dreams. i just wanna be an editor for a book publishing company. or Seventeen magazine. or...i don't know. i also want to be a singer so i could travel a lot. i think i could do it. i sing pretty well.
i think, anyway.
foundation that actually matches my skin tone. i'm pale. but i'm also not porcelain pale. my foundation is always the TINIEST bit too light or too dark. and it frustrates me to no end.
a castle in my neighborhood. i just got back from Scotland a couple months ago. you get used to seeing majestic things everyday and then BAM, Mississippi.
7 things that make you angry.
people who sing when they don't know the words. my cousin used to do this on the way to school in the mornings during high school. and every day, i would threaten to hit him and throw him out of the car. i don't know why it bothers me so much, but oh my gosh. it's awful. it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.
people who walk slowly when they're right in front of you. especially when you can't really get around he/she/them. especially somewhere like Walmart. my strategy for Walmart is to put my headphones in and get out as fast as i possibly can. and i walk pretty fast.
sociopaths. i say that kind of jokingly, but seriously. i know a few people that could definitely qualify, and it drives me insane.
ignorance. i'm not a judgmental person, naturally. and i'm not quick to label most people or shy away from someone because of how they look, speak, or act. but if you have to ask me what i mean when i say that someone is being "apathetic" about a situation or that the situation itself looks "dire," i will probably walk away before i say something rude about finding a dictionary.
supernatural. it also makes me cry. and laugh hysterically every now and then.
when i break or lose my iPhone. because it's inevitable.
headaches. i get them all the time. i blame it on my poor eyesight, even though i never take out my contacts.
i suppose that could be the problem too...
7 things that you neglect to do
floss. ever. maybe the day i go to the dentist.
clean out my car. it normally consists of fast food bags, text books, and probably a movie or two. and some shoes. and maybe a shirt. oh, and my waitress apron.
study. homework. at least...not til the last minute.
see my parents like i should. i almost never have time to go home...so i don't. sad day.
work out. i keep telling myself that i'm going to, but let's be honest. it's probably never going to happen.
laundry. i'm not gross, i don't re-wear clothing, but i do wait until all my clothes are dirty to do my laundry. oops.
go to any doctor appointments. i hate waiting.
7 worldly material desires
to live in NYC for a year. or maybe longer. it really just depends. i want to live there so badly, though.
to go to grad school in Dublin. or NYC. or Edinburgh. kinda goes along with the one above. but really. more than anything.
to build my dream home. preferably with a bathtub out of the prefects bathroom in Harry Potter and a huge library with a nook and a wall of windows. on a second or third floor.
DSLR. and to know how to use it correctly.
the perfect little black dress. speaks for itself.
a credit card that has no limit. and that i also don't have to pay off.
snow. whenever i wanted it.
7 guilty pleasures
oreos. all the time. most of the time there's a pack on my nightstand.
morganville. the vampire series i mentioned earlier. i love those fictional characters like they were my own.
sleeping til the late afternoon. on the odd days that i can.
SNOOZE. i literally hit it at least 5 times every morning.
twitter. i'm on it all the time. 24/7.
red bull. i could live off it. i've cut back a ton lately though.
7 things you love about love
[i chose quotes]
I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.
Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part.
Louis de Bernieres
A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you.
We accept the love we think we deserve.
There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment.
People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.
A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.
A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master.
hey, it never said that the quotes had to be from real people.
you should link up as well! it's open til November 2nd.
